Hanau Hospital & City Donate Medical Supplies to Ukraine Hospitals
Hanau Hospital and the city have shown their support for Ukraine by donating medical supplies to Medical Aid Karpato-Ukraine. The organization, which has been aiding Ukrainian hospitals for over three decades, received a significant donation of sutures and plans to send more essential items soon.
Mayor Dr. Maximilian Bieri presented the donation on behalf of Hanau Hospital and the city. The package included several kilograms of sutures, worth around 1,000 euros, intended for St. Martin Hospital in Mukachevo, Ukraine. These sutures will be crucial for operations and wound care.
The organization, Medical Aid Karpato-Ukraine, has a nationwide network for receiving and distributing donations. It plans to send ten washing machines and dryers, blood pressure monitors, and microscopes to Ukraine in the near future. Before these items are sent, they will be checked, maintained, and repaired by TTM (Cologne).
Hellmann East Europe is supporting the organization in transporting these aid supplies to Ukraine. The commitment of Medical Aid Karpato-Ukraine has been more crucial than ever since the Russia Ukraine war. Dr. Martina Scheufler, the founder of the organization, thanked the city and the hospital for their support.
Key figures involved in organizing and coordinating the transport of aid to hospitals in Ukraine include groups like Wachtberg4help e.V., which works with the Charitable Foundation 'For Ukraine' to deliver goods, and other organizations such as United Help for Ukraine and Gemeinsam für die Ukraine e.V., which coordinate logistics and distribution with local partners.
Hanau Hospital and the city's donation of sutures and planned supplies, along with the support of Medical Aid Karpato-Ukraine and other organizations, will significantly aid Ukrainian hospitals. The timely delivery of these essential items will help mitigate the impact of the ongoing crisis.
