Ingrid Pillmann first joined the district council in 1974, serving until 1985. During this time, she took on key roles in multiple committees. Her work continued in the Hanau City Council from 2001 to 2006, where she served as deputy chair of the Committee for Women, Youth, and Social Affairs.
After leaving the city council, she remained active as a member of the Hanau District Council until 2016. Beyond formal politics, she stayed involved in the FDP party, including as deputy district chairwoman. She also contributed to citizens' initiatives and environmental protection projects in Hanau. Her contributions have earned her several prestigious awards. In 1996, she received the Certificate of Honor of the State of Hesse.
