Hanau hit by thefts, crashes and a hit-and-run on A45 motorway
Hanau and surrounding areas have seen a spate of criminal activity and road incidents, with several vehicles damaged and property stolen. Police are seeking witnesses to help solve these cases.
On Monday, a sheep was stolen from a pasture on Waldensberger StraĆe in WƤchtersbach between 3 PM and 8:15 PM. Meanwhile, a black Volkswagen Tiguan was scratched, causing approximately ā¬4,000 in damage, on August-SchaĢrttner-StraĆe in Hanau. The same day, a 26-year-old Maintal resident lost control of his BMW and crashed into two parked cars on DoĢrnigheimer Weg, causing tens of thousands of euros in damage.
On Tuesday evening, unknown perpetrators broke into a construction site at Polarsternweg in Rodenbach, stealing two solar battery storage systems, cables, and an inverter from a building under construction. The theft occurred between 6 PM and 7 AM on Wednesday morning. In a separate incident, three thieves broke into a detached house on Kleine HainstraĆe in Maintal, making off with jewelry worth several thousand euros.
Wednesday morning saw a pedestrian struck by a car on Frankfurter StraĆe in Bad Orb, with the driver fleeing the scene. Later that afternoon, a hit-and-run incident occurred on the A45 motorway toward Aschaffenburg, involving a semi-truck and a blue truck. The blue truck forced the semi-truck to the left, causing it to collide with the central guardrail and become wedged. The impact damaged the semi-truckās oil pan, leading to operational fluids leaking and traffic disruptions. The driver of the blue truck did not stop and fled the scene. Police are seeking witnesses to provide information about the fleeing blue truck.
