Hammer-wielding woman sparks chaos in Wiesbaden before police intervene
A woman wielding a hammer caused panic in central Wiesbaden on Thursday morning. She threatened several people before fleeing into a nearby park. Police later detained her without any injuries reported.
The incident began when the woman entered a bakery on Langgasse. She pulled out a hammer and swung it at an employee, trying to break the display window. After the confrontation, she ran off toward the Kurpark.
Once in the park, she approached three more women. She shouted threats and brandished the hammer, though none of the victims were harmed. Police arrived quickly and located her inside the park.
Officers took her into custody after a brief confrontation. Due to her erratic behaviour and apparent psychological distress, she was transported to a specialised clinic for evaluation.
The woman remains in care at the clinic following the incident. Authorities confirmed no physical injuries occurred during the threats. The investigation into the event continues.
