The Green Party has won the latest local elections in Kassel, Hesse, securing 22.4% of the vote. This result places them ahead of both the CDU and the SPD, who received 21.7% and 19.8% respectively. Voter turnout also rose compared to the previous election in 2021.

The 2026 municipal elections for Kassel's Stadtverordnetenversammlung saw a turnout of 50.9%, up from the last vote. The Greens led the results, though their share fell by 6.3 percentage points since 2021.

The Left Party followed with 14.5% of the vote, while the AfD took 12.1%. The FDP, meanwhile, received 3.1% of the ballots cast.
