Great Support for Children and Youth Center Lamboypark After Break-in

Lamboypark Youth Center in Hanau has received an outpouring of support after a break-in left the facility damaged and missing funds. The incident, which took place in late November, resulted in the loss of cash meant for Christmas activities. Now, donations from local businesses and organisations have helped the centre recover.

The break-in happened overnight between Thursday, November 20, and Friday, November 21. Thieves stole around €3,500 in cash, technical equipment, and other belongings. The stolen money had been set aside for planned Christmas events, making the loss especially difficult for staff and young visitors.

News of the incident spread quickly, prompting a wave of donations. The Ludwig Wollweber Bansch law firm gave €2,000 from its collective Christmas fund. The Lions Club Hanau Brothers Grimm contributed €1,000, while another anonymous donor provided €2,000 on December 19, 2025.

Other gifts included a PlayStation and controllers from the Friends and Supporters of Lamboy-Tümpelgarten association. AltunTrans GmbH, based in Maintal, donated three additional controllers and a FIFA game. These contributions will help restore the centre’s resources and keep activities running.

A ceremonial handover of the donations took place at the centre on Lamboystraße 33a. Mayor and Social Affairs Commissioner Dr. Maximilian Bieri attended, alongside representatives from the donating organisations. He highlighted the importance of the youth centre for local children and praised the community’s generosity.

With the funds and equipment now replaced, the youth centre can proceed with its planned programs and activities. The donations ensure that children and teens in Hanau will still have access to the events and resources they were promised. The centre’s staff have expressed gratitude for the swift and overwhelming support.
