Gifhorn's Youth Conference Tackles Transport and New Café Plans on April 24

The second Gifhorn District Youth Conference is set to take place on Friday, April 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. Organised by the District Youth Council and District Youth Services, the event will gather young residents to discuss local issues and future projects.

Originally planned for March 6, the conference was postponed to allow for better preparation and participation.

The conference will be held at the Youth Meeting Center (JBG) on Ludwig-Jahn-Straße 10 in Gifhorn. Young people can attend without prior registration, though online sign-ups are encouraged.

Key topics on the agenda include public transport, a persistent concern for rural youth in the district. The Greater Braunschweig Regional Association will join the discussions, focusing on student transport and improving rural transit options. Participants will also explore plans for a new youth cafĂ© in Torstraße, Gifhorn. Additionally, a youth concert is being organised as part of the *Unser Aller Festival*, offering another opportunity for local engagement. A new grant programme has been introduced to support youth-led initiatives. The low-threshold scheme provides funding between €100 and €1,000, aiming to encourage more young people to develop their own projects.

The event builds on the first Gifhorn District Youth Conference held in March 2023. With discussions on transport, cultural events, and funding, the conference aims to give young residents a direct role in shaping local services.

Further details and registration can be found online, with organisers welcoming both planned and drop-in attendance.
