The Crime Prevention Unit (Prävko) of Gießen’s Regulatory Office has donated €940 to the Peiper Ward Parents’ Association. The gift arrived just in time for Advent, alongside small presents for the children at the ward. Staff from the office, including Mayor Wright, personally delivered the funds and treats to brighten the festive season for young patients.

The donation came from voluntary contributions collected during Prävko’s free bicycle encoding service. Throughout 2025, the unit marked 369 bicycles—worth an estimated one million euros—using a pin-engraving system to deter theft and aid recovery. Participants were not charged for the service but were invited to donate to Peiper Ward if they wished.

The combined efforts of Prävko staff and donors provided both financial support and festive cheer to Peiper Ward. The €940 donation, along with the encoded bicycles, reflects the unit’s ongoing commitment to community safety and child welfare. Further details on next year’s encoding service will be announced in due course.
