Giessen’s Christmas Markets Return with Festive Magic and Free Attractions

Giessen’s Christmas markets will open on November 24, running until December 30. Three separate locations—Church Square, the City Centre, and Berliner Platz—will each host festive events, performances, and seasonal treats. Organised by Gießen Marketing GmbH, the celebrations include free transport, live shows, and family-friendly attractions.

The Advent Market on Church Square will feature a nostalgic children’s carousel alongside a varied programme on the StadtRaumBühne stage. Visitors can expect St. Nicholas and his helpers to appear there on December 6, with another festive procession through the city centre on December 20.

The markets operate with varying daily hours until December 30. Free transport, stage performances, and themed events aim to draw crowds throughout the season. Gießen Marketing GmbH oversees the festivities, ensuring a mix of tradition and entertainment for all ages.
