Giessen Residents Warned After Spate of Burglaries and Thefts

Residents of Rodheim-Bieber, Giessen, are urged to stay vigilant after a spate of burglaries and thefts, including bicycle and e-bike thefts, occurred between Sunday, October 5, and Monday, October 6. The Gießen police are seeking information about any suspicious persons or vehicles seen during this period.

The series of incidents began with the theft of a bicycle from a garden shed on Bieberstraße during daylight hours on Monday. An e-bike worth almost €2,900 was also stolen from a shed on the same street. In another incident, two e-bikes were taken from a camper on Bieberstraße. Additionally, unknown individuals broke into garages on Talstraße and Bieberstraße but did not steal any items.

Witnesses described two suspects. The first was of average build, around 1.65 to 1.70 meters tall, wearing a light baseball cap, a scarf, a light jacket with black and white sleeves, light pants, and light sneakers. The second was taller, approximately 1.90 meters, slim, with a dark baseball cap, dark scarf, light down jacket, dark jogging pants, and white sneakers. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gießen Criminal Police on 0641/6555.

The Gießen police are treating these incidents seriously and are appealing for any information that could help identify the culprits. Residents are advised to secure their properties and report any suspicious activity. The investigation is ongoing.
