Giessen police probe hit-and-run and violent phone theft in one week
Police in Giessen are investigating two separate incidents that took place last week. On Tuesday morning, a hit-and-run collision involving a white Mercedes-Benz GLC left a truck driver with minor vehicle damage. Just days later, a violent altercation on Saturday evening resulted in a stolen phone and an ongoing search for the suspect.
The first incident occurred on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at around 10:30 a.m. on Karl-Glöckner-Straße. A truck driver was sideswiped by a white Mercedes-Benz GLC after the car allegedly drifted into the right lane. The collision caused roughly €500 in damage to the DAF truck before the Mercedes-Benz fled the scene. Authorities are now asking witnesses to come forward with any information about the unknown driver.
Both cases remain under investigation. Police have urged anyone with details about the hit-and-run or the assault to contact the local station. The victim of the robbery is still waiting for his phone to be found.
