Giessen invites clubs to join Hesse Day 2026 parade with funding support
Giessen is preparing for Hesse Day 2026 in Fulda with a call for local clubs and groups to join the parade. The event, set for Sunday, June 21, offers financial support and travel coverage for those taking part. Registration closes on February 20, 2026, with a lottery system in place if demand exceeds available spots. The city has invited organisations to sign up for the parade, either with a decorated float or as a walking group. Interested parties can register by phone, fax, or email at [email protected]. Successful applicants will receive a €250 flat-rate payment from the state of Hesse, while Giessen will cover travel costs.
If more groups apply than spots allow, a random draw will decide the final participants. The university city aims to make a strong showing at the festival, following previous host cities like Fritzlar and Fulda.
The registration deadline is February 20, 2026, with the parade itself taking place on June 21. Selected groups will benefit from financial aid and reimbursed travel. The lottery system ensures fairness if applications outnumber available places.
