Germany’s trade growth strengthens with rising exports and imports in September

Germany's trade balance displayed resilience in September. Exports climbed by 1.4 percent month-on-month, while imports rose by 3.1 percent, both adjusted for calendar and seasonal effects.

Year-over-year comparisons also showed growth. Exports increased by 2.0 percent in September 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Imports, meanwhile, surged by 4.8 percent over the same period.

The German Federal Statistical Office, Statistisches Bundesamt, released these figures. Despite the office not announcing the name of its president in October 2025, the data provides a clear picture of Germany's trade performance.

September's trade figures indicate a robust German economy, with both exports and imports showing steady growth. This trend bodes well for the country's economic outlook.
