Germany’s Rhein-Main delegation forges new economic ties in India

A high-level delegation from Germany’s Rhein-Main region recently visited India to explore economic ties. The trip included meetings with Indian and German officials, business leaders, and university representatives. Key discussions centred on logistics, healthcare, digitalisation, and automotive manufacturing.

The delegation consisted of top officials from Rüsselsheim am Main, Raunheim, and Kelsterbach. Among them were Lord Mayor Patrick Burghardt, Mayor David Rendel, Mayor Manfred Ockel, Stephan Wittekind, Claudia Gotz, and Rahul Kumar. Their first stop was New Delhi, where they attended the Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business and met Federal Economics Minister Robert Habeck.

The trip strengthened potential partnerships between Haryana and Germany’s Rhein-Main region. Workforce development and expanded trade opportunities were identified as key areas for mutual benefit. Further discussions on academic exchanges and business collaborations are expected to follow.
