Donations for the Weakest - Germany’s *A Heart for Children* telethon returns with global impact this December

Germany’s biggest charity telethon, A Heart for Children, returns this December with a star-studded live gala. The event, hosted by Johannes B. Kerner, will air on ZDF on St. Nicholas Eve, promising an evening of emotion and empathy. Organisers hope to build on last year’s success, which raised over €27 million for aid projects around the world.

The Bild hilft e.V. – A Heart for Children initiative has supported vulnerable children since its launch in 1978. Originally focused on German projects, it now extends aid to families and institutions in 58 countries. In recent months alone, the initiative funded 1,380 life-changing surgeries for young patients.

The telethon’s impact stretches far beyond Germany’s borders, with millions raised each year for medical care, education, and emergency relief. This December, organisers aim to rally public support once again. Donations will directly fund surgeries, aid programmes, and family assistance in some of the world’s most disadvantaged communities.
