Donations for the Weakest - Germany’s *A Heart for Children* Telethon Returns to Save Young Lives

Germany’s biggest charity telethon, A Heart for Children, returns this December with a live gala full of emotion and empathy. Organised by ZDF and Bild newspaper, the event aims to inspire viewers to donate generously to children in need. The show will air on St. Nicholas Eve, continuing a long tradition of fundraising for aid projects worldwide.

The Bild hilft e.V. – A Heart for Children initiative was launched in 1978 and has since focused on supporting German and international projects, especially those related to heart health. Last year alone, the campaign raised over €27 million, funding aid in 58 countries. In recent months, donations helped 1,380 children receive life-changing heart surgeries.

The telethon’s success will depend on public donations, which have funded critical aid for decades. Money raised will support projects in Germany and abroad, helping children access medical care, education, and essential resources. The event remains one of the country’s most-watched charity broadcasts each year.
