Germany cracks down on undeclared labour in security sector

German customs authorities have launched a major crackdown on undeclared labour and illegal immigration in the security and private protection sector. The operation involves over 2,000 officers and is led by the Financial Intelligence Unit for Undeclared Work (FKS), which is part of a broader, suspicion-independent inspection drive. All main customs offices are participating in the blitz, which will also examine unauthorised temporary staffing and minimum wage compliance. The nationwide inspections will continue as part of ongoing efforts to combat undeclared work and ensure social security. Results from the operation will provide further details on compliance levels within the security sector. Authorities have emphasised the importance of enforcing labour laws to prevent exploitation and revenue loss.
