German roads face rising injury and fatality risks in 2025 projections

German roads may see a slight increase in car accidents next year, according to new projections. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) has released figures showing more injuries and fatalities in 2025, despite overall accident numbers staying steady at around 2.5 million. The total number of police-recorded accidents is expected to hold firm at about 2.5 million. Of these, roughly 2.2 million will involve only property damage, while another 290,000 will result in personal injury. The 2025 forecast points to more dangerous conditions on German roads, even as total accident numbers stay flat. With injuries and fatalities both expected to increase, authorities may need to reassess road safety measures in the coming months.
