Seven Years in Prison for Chaotic Ride with Stolen Wheel Loader in Hesse - German man jailed for violent wheel loader rampage injuring 11

A 29-year-old ama has been jailed for seven years after a violent rampage with a stolen wheel loader. The incident, which took place near Burgwald in Hesse last May, left 11 people injured and caused widespread damage. The court ruled that his actions were deliberate but noted his reduced capacity for guilt.

The man stole the heavy machine from his parents' business, reportedly frustrated by overwork. He then drove the loader onto a federal highway, crashing into oncoming traffic. Along the way, he knocked down a tree, destroyed guardrails, and eventually plunged into a pond.

During the rampage, one woman suffered serious injuries, while three others were severely hurt. Eight more people sustained minor wounds. Medical reports later confirmed that at least one victim would face lifelong disabilities, including paralysis. The court stressed that the psychological impact on survivors would last for years.

Prosecutors confirmed that no one diedโ€”purely by chance. The loader's speed alone could have been fatal. Despite his limited culpability, the man was convicted of two counts of attempted murder, along with other offenses. Alcohol did not play a role in the attack.

The sentence reflects the severity of the crimes and their lasting effects on the victims. Many will require long-term medical care, while others cope with permanent disabilities. The case now closes with the man serving a seven-year prison term.
