German man arrested after pharmacy exposes fake prescription scheme

Police in Langen have arrested a 58-year-old man on suspicion of document forgery. The case began when a local pharmacy, suspecting a fake prescription, flagged it to authorities. The prescription was for erectile dysfunction medication and had inconsistencies in its layout and issuance date. Instead of filling the prescription, the pharmacy staff kept it and alerted the police.

When the suspect returned to the pharmacy, officers arrested him. A subsequent search of his home in the Offenbach district uncovered a fake doctor's stamp and blank prescription forms, which are now part of the ongoing investigation.

After initial procedures, police released the man from custody. No previous incidents of alleged forgery involving the suspect have been recorded in Langen or the surrounding area over the past two years.

The investigation into the suspected forgery continues. Authorities are examining the seized materials to determine the extent of the alleged fraud. The case remains open as police gather further evidence.
