Long Prison Sentences for Trafficking Chinese Women into Prostitution in Hesse - German Court Convicts Three in Massive Human Trafficking and Forced Prostitution Ring
A regional court in Wiesbaden has convicted three people for trafficking women from China into Germany. The group forced at least 31 victims into prostitution and evaded taxes. Two of the main defendants received lengthy prison sentences for their role in the operation. The court found that the three defendants recruited women online in China and smuggled them into Germany. Once in the country, the victims were coerced into illegal sex work, primarily in Hesse. Investigations revealed that the trafficking network also operated in North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg, and Rhineland-Palatinate. The two ringleaders were sentenced to seven and a half years and six years and three months in prison. A third defendant received a term of three years and nine months. Authorities seized over one million euros in criminal profits linked to the operation. The women, numbering more than 30, were brought into Germany under false pretences and forced into prostitution. The court's ruling follows a detailed investigation into the cross-regional trafficking scheme. The convictions mark the end of a large-scale trafficking case involving forced prostitution and tax fraud. The confiscated funds will be recovered as proceeds of crime. All three defendants are now serving prison terms for their involvement in the operation.
