Genesis GmbH to Close, Impacting 110 Jobs Including 50 with Disabilities
Genesis GmbH, an inclusive company employing 110 staff, including 50 people with disabilities, is set to close down after March 31, 2024. Despite efforts to find new customers or political solutions, no alternatives have been found.
The closure of Genesis' clinics in Haan and Solingen, along with the takeover of the Hildener hospital by the GFO, led to a significant loss of major customers. These events, combined with unsuccessful attempts to find new customers or owners, have made it difficult for the company to continue operations.
From November 1, 2025, Genesis will be taken over by Automobile Schrader. The company will continue its activities with the existing core team and serve as an exclusive distributor for Genesis in North Rhine-Westphalia. Employees will be offered the opportunity to switch to a transfer company to continue operations until March 31, 2024.
Genesis will cease operations of its central kitchen and garden and landscape construction by March 31, 2024. The company's closure will impact 110 employees, including 50 people with disabilities. Despite the takeover by Automobile Schrader, the future of these employees remains uncertain.
