Gas Leak in Wiesbaden: Police Shut Down Shisha Bar
A carbon monoxide leak on Schwalbacher Straße in Wiesbaden led to an emergency response on Friday evening. Firefighters, paramedics, and police arrived after a resident reported neurological symptoms and called for help. The incident resulted in the closure of a nearby hookah lounge linked to the gas exposure.
The alarm was raised when a woman in an apartment building developed neurological issues. Emergency services rushed her to hospital for treatment, though others at the scene refused medical checks.
Investigations traced the carbon monoxide to a hookah lounge on the building’s ground floor. Authorities confirmed the business, 'Shisha Lounge Wiesbaden,' was registered under Murat Yılmaz. Police subsequently ordered its immediate shutdown. The incident prompted a swift multi-agency response, with firefighters securing the area and paramedics assessing those affected. The lounge remains closed as investigations continue into the source of the leak.
The woman involved was hospitalised for further evaluation. The hookah lounge on Schwalbacher Straße has been shut down by police pending further action. Authorities have not yet announced when the venue may reopen.
