GAP’s Goldie the Excavator Raises £3,040 for Construction Charity
A unique partnership between GAP Hire Solutions and Kubota has raised thousands for charity. The effort involved a gold-painted excavator, named Goldie, which generated funds through customer hires. The money went to The Lighthouse Club, a charity supporting construction workers and their families. In 2019, GAP Hire Solutions marked its 50th anniversary. Around the same time, Kubota gifted the company a custom excavator, painted gold and nicknamed Goldie. The machine was then hired out to GAP’s customers, with 50% of its rental revenue pledged to charity. The collaboration between GAP and Kubota has provided tangible support to The Lighthouse Club. The charity will use the £3,040 to assist construction workers facing hardship. GAP continues to promote the charity’s services while maintaining its own commitment to regular charitable donations.
