FUEL Roadshow launches in Newcastle to boost SME funding access
A new UK-wide initiative to support small and medium-sized businesses will launch in Newcastle upon Tyne on Tuesday 17 March 2026. The FUEL Roadshow aims to help SMEs prepare for investment and funding, with each regional event expecting over 250 business owners in attendance.
The FUEL Roadshow will provide direct access to funding opportunities and tailored advice for entrepreneurs. Major partners include NatWest, British Business Bank, CO4CH, CBI, and regional partner FW Capital. Purbeck Insurance Services has also joined as a key supporter, offering personal guarantee insurance to help directors manage risk when borrowing.
Blair McDougall MP, the Government's Minister for Small Business, has publicly backed the initiative. Business owners can now book tickets or register their interest through the official website, www.fuelroadshow.co.uk. Purbeck's involvement highlights a shift in SME finance, where more business owners are being asked for personal guarantees. While individual events like those in Scotland and the North East have been announced, the total number of roadshows planned across the UK remains unconfirmed.
The roadshow kicks off in Newcastle next March, with each event set to attract hundreds of business owners. Attendees will gain access to funding advice, investor connections, and risk management solutions. The initiative reflects growing demand for financial support among UK SMEs.
