Freigericht’s revitalized square opens after community-driven redesign

The Freigericht district in Hanau will celebrate the opening of its newly redesigned square on Wednesday, December 3. The project, shaped by local input, includes upgraded seating, play areas, greenery, and safer traffic measures at a cost of around €975,000.

Planning for the square began in 2023, with residents sharing ideas during workshops and information sessions. Their suggestions directly influenced the final design, ensuring the space meets community needs.

The new square reflects years of planning and investment in Freigericht. With better lighting, safer streets, and more green spaces, the area now offers improved facilities for residents. The opening event will give locals the chance to experience the changes firsthand.
