Fraudsters target elderly residents in Frankfurt and Hamburg home scams

Elderly residents in Frankfurt’s Nordend district were targeted by fraudulent tradesmen on May 13, 2025. The suspects posed as repairmen to enter homes before stealing cash and jewellery. Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward with any information.

The incidents took place at two separate locations: Adlerflychtstraße in Frankfurt and Hansaallee in Hamburg. In each case, two men worked together—one distracting the resident while the other searched the apartment for valuables.

The investigation remains active as of December 16, 2025. Authorities continue to seek public assistance in identifying the suspects. Residents are reminded to verify the identity of anyone claiming to be a tradesman before allowing them entry.
