Fraud Alert: Imposter Targets Elderly Woman in Trebur

A fraudulent individual, posing as a handyman, gained entry to an elderly woman's apartment in Trebur on Friday, October 2nd, at 12:30 PM. The imposter, who claimed to be checking smoke detectors, stole cash from the woman's wallet. Police are seeking information about the suspect.

The suspect, described as approximately 1.50 to 1.60 meters tall and around 30 to 40 years old, has a sturdy build. He was seen wearing blue jeans, a red cap, a light jacket, and black glasses, with a southern appearance. In addition to the Trebur incident, the same man attempted a similar scam in two further incidents in Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, but was unsuccessful as residents did not let him in.

Police urge residents to be cautious and not let strangers into their homes, even if they claim to be performing maintenance checks. Always verify the identity of such individuals before granting access.

The search for the suspect continues. Anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspect's whereabouts is encouraged to contact local law enforcement. The elderly woman's cash was stolen, and no further details about her condition or the amount taken have been released.
