Fraport names new COO as Frankfurt Airport reshapes leadership team

Fraport AG has announced a key leadership change at Frankfurt Airport. Dietmar Focke will take over as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Aviation and Ground Services from 1 May 2026. His appointment fills a gap left by Anke Giesen's retirement at the end of 2025.

Meanwhile, OHB, a major European aerospace firm, has proposed Kristina Wagner for a supervisory board role, succeeding Professor Katja Windt.

Dietmar Focke brings decades of aviation experience to Fraport. He previously led Lufthansa Industry Solutions as managing director and served as COO of Lufthansa Cargo. His new position will oversee critical airport operations, including flight handling and ground services.

The appointment completes Fraport's five-member executive board. Focke's operational focus follows Giesen's departure, ensuring continuity in managing Frankfurt Airport's complex logistics.

At OHB, Kristina Wagner currently holds the role of Chief Technology Officer. The company has now nominated her to join its supervisory board. If approved, she will replace Professor Katja Windt, who previously held the position.

Focke's arrival at Fraport strengthens leadership in aviation and ground operations. His background in cargo and IT solutions aligns with the airport's demands. Wagner's potential move to the supervisory board at OHB would bring technical expertise to its governance.
