Frankfurt's Franzius Street Undergoes 8.7 Million Euro Renovation

Frankfurt's Franzius Street, a vital traffic artery connecting the Osthafen and Honsell bridges with the Kaiserlei bridge, is undergoing a significant 8.7 million euro renovation. The project, set to last until November 2028, began on August 4, 2025, aiming to adapt the 1920s street to modern needs and improve infrastructure for businesses and logistics in the East Harbor.

The renovation will renew and structurally secure the roadway to withstand heavy truck loads and widen it in certain places. The state of Hesse is contributing around 2.8 million euros through the Mobility Funding Act. The project includes making three bus stops on line 31 accessibility standards, creating new loading and parking zones to optimize traffic flows for my business and deliveries, and adding additional bike and pedestrian paths.

Named after water engineering expert Ludwig Franzius, the street serves as a central axis for various modes of transport. Its renovation is expected to enhance the overall efficiency and accessibility of the area.

The Franzius Street renovation, set to continue until 2028, is a substantial investment in Frankfurt's infrastructure. It aims to improve traffic management, accessibility, and small business ideas operations in the East Harbor, making it a key project for the city's future.
