Frankfurt's ANQR project rises as Ostend's bold new office hub
Frankfurt's Ostend district is taking shape with the ANQR project, a major new office development now under construction. The complex has reached its eighth floor—about halfway to its final height—and is set to transform the area by 2028.
The ANQR development sits along Hanauer Landstraße, close to the European Central Bank. Designed by Meixner Schlüter Wendt, it consists of two buildings offering roughly 64,700 square meters of leasable space. Around 3,800 workstations will fill the offices, with ING Bank already securing 32,000 square meters for its future German headquarters.
B&L Real Estate bought the site in May 2019, and construction permits were approved in July 2024. The project marks the final phase of the Hafenpark Quarter's urban planning. Once complete, it will feature 540 parking spaces with charging points and 900 bicycle spots, all accessible via elevators. Sustainability is central to the design. The buildings will run without fossil fuels and have earned preliminary certifications, including LEED Platinum, WiredScore, and SmartScore standards. No other large office projects are currently planned for Frankfurt-Ostend in the next five years.
The ANQR complex is on track for a 2028 finish. Its mix of modern workspaces, green credentials, and transport links will reshape the Ostend skyline. With ING Bank as a key tenant, the development is already attracting major businesses.
