Frankfurt uncovers repeated illegal waste dumping under Maybach Bridge

Illegal waste dumping has been uncovered beneath the Maybach Bridge in Frankfurt. The latest incident was found on 6 January 2026 along Alexander-Riese-Weg in the Eschersheim district. Authorities are now investigating whether it links to earlier cases at the same spot.

The discovery follows two previous dumping incidents at the site in March and July 2025. Each time, the waste included containers with unidentified contents, along with construction and renovation debris. The repeated nature of the offences has raised suspicions of a pattern.

Local officials have noted similarities in the type of waste left behind. This has led them to believe the same individuals or groups may be responsible. The area remains under scrutiny as investigations continue.

The January 2026 incident adds to a growing concern over illegal waste disposal in Frankfurt. Authorities are examining the evidence to determine if the cases are connected. Further action will depend on the findings of their ongoing probe.
