EKHN to Bring Kirchentag to Frankfurt - Frankfurt to Host German Protestant Church Congress in Early 2030s
The Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau (EKHN) is preparing to host the German Protestant Church Congress in Frankfurt am Main in the early 2030s. The event, which has taken place in the city five times before, is expected to bring a significant boost to both the church and the local community. Organisers have already begun securing funding and support for the large-scale gathering.
Frankfurt last hosted the Ecumenical Church Congress in 2021, making it a familiar location for major religious events. The EKHN has now committed €10 million from its own reserves to help fund the upcoming congress. This financial backing demonstrates the church’s strong commitment to the project.
With €10 million already allocated, the EKHN is moving forward with plans for the congress. The event’s success will depend on further cooperation with local and regional authorities. If secured, additional funding from the city and state could help ensure a smooth and impactful gathering in the early 2030s.
