Frankfurt police crack down on crime with station area arrests and patrols
Frankfurt police have stepped up patrols in the station area since late 2022, targeting crime and public order offences. Over recent days, officers made several arrests, including a violent e-scooter theft and drug-related violations. The crackdown follows ongoing complaints and increased enforcement efforts in the area.
A man was robbed of his e-scooter after the thief sprayed him with pepper spray. Police later caught the attacker and returned the stolen vehicle to its owner.
During a routine check near Kaisertor, officers found cocaine and a utility knife on an individual. This led to a criminal complaint for narcotics possession and breaching weapon-free zone rules.
A man already banned from the area was arrested again for repeated violations. A judge issued a four-day detention order against him. Meanwhile, three other individuals wanted on arrest warrants were also taken into custody in the same district.
Enforcement actions resulted in one person being sent to a correctional facility. Another paid an on-the-spot fine to avoid detention.
Since September 2022, Frankfurt police have boosted their presence in the station area. Additional officers from the Hessian police operations centre and the Bundespolizei (Federal Police) now patrol the area. Their focus remains on monitoring street vendors and high-risk locations.
The recent operations highlight Frankfurt’s ongoing efforts to curb crime in the station area. Arrests for theft, drug offences, and area bans show the impact of increased policing. Authorities continue to enforce stricter controls in response to public concerns.
