Frankfurt Police Arrest Suspect in Attempted Homicide on Mainzer Landstraße
Frankfurt police are investigating an attempted homicide that occurred in the early hours of September 28, 2025. A 21-year-old suspect is in custody following an argument that turned violent on Mainzer Landstraße.
The incident began as a dispute between a man and a woman. The argument escalated, leading to the man allegedly kicking and punching the woman, who is 20 years old. The attack took place around 03:55 and left the victim with non-life-threatening injuries. Two witnesses witnessed the assault and the suspect fled the scene.
The suspect was later apprehended at the Giessen train station and taken to the Frankfurt Police Headquarters. The injured woman was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. This is not an isolated case; police have recently arrested multiple suspects in connection with another attempted murder in Heumaden on July 23, 2025. In this case, five suspects were initially arrested, followed by six more on October 1, 2025. The suspects range in age from 16 to 17 and include two women of Syrian and German-Iraqi nationality.
The Criminal Police have launched an investigation into the Mainzer Landstraße incident, treating it as an attempted homicide. The 21-year-old suspect is currently in custody, and the victim is recovering from her injuries. The recent spate of arrests in Heumaden suggests that police are taking a firm stance against such violent crimes.
