Frankfurt man charged after police find €50,000 in stolen designer clothes
A 24-year-old man in Frankfurt is facing charges of commercial theft after police uncovered a large stash of stolen clothing. The items, including high-end T-shirts, were reportedly taken from his former employer, a local retailer. Authorities estimate the recovered goods to be worth tens of thousands of euros.
The discovery happened during a routine visit to serve a termination notice at the suspect's mobile home. Instead of delivering the paperwork, officials found boxes filled with stolen garments. Some of the items had already been listed for resale.
The suspect's former employer had raised concerns over missing stock, particularly high-value clothing. Investigations confirmed the stolen goods were linked to the retailer. Police have ruled out connections to other thefts in Frankfurt or the surrounding area.
The recovered merchandise, valued in the mid-five-figure range, has been returned to the retailer. The suspect now faces legal proceedings for commercial theft. No further businesses have reported similar incidents.
