Frankfurt has introduced a new night taxi service aimed at improving safety for women and girls travelling late at night. The programme, which runs daily from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., offers subsidised rides within the city limits for eligible passengers. The service is available to women and girls aged 14 and older, with each person allowed up to six subsidised trips. Passengers receive a €6 discount per ride, but they must first collect a voucher from the Climate and Sustainability Hub at Hauptwache. The city’s transport and marketing departments oversee the voucher distribution. The new service provides a practical solution for women and girls travelling after dark. With subsidised fares and expanded voucher access, the programme seeks to enhance safety during late-night journeys. The city’s approach follows existing models in other Hessian towns.
