Fewer trains between Frankfurt and Darmstadt from February 20 - Frankfurt-Darmstadt rail routes face two-week shutdown in late February

Rail passengers traveling between Frankfurt and Darmstadt will face major disruptions from February 20 to March 6. Several key routes will be suspended or reduced due to ongoing construction work on the network.

The RE60 line, which normally connects Frankfurt and Darmstadt, will not operate at all during this period. Similarly, the RB82 service will be halted between Frankfurt and Darmstadt-Nord, leaving commuters without direct trains on these routes.

The RB61 line will also see cancellations, with no trains running between Frankfurt Central Station (Frankfurt Hbf) or Neu-Isenburg and Dreieich-Buchschlag. Meanwhile, the RB67 and RB68 services will experience partial cancellations between Langen and Frankfurt.

Long-distance trains traveling between Mannheim, Heidelberg, Frankfurt, and Darmstadt will face additional cancellations. Many of these services will be rerouted, though exact alternative arrangements have not been detailed. The only confirmed unaffected service is the S6 S-Bahn line, which will continue running as usual and may provide some relief for stranded passengers.

The disruptions will last until March 6, affecting thousands of daily commuters. While the S6 S-Bahn remains operational, other replacement options have not been fully specified. Passengers are advised to check for updates before traveling.
