Frankfurt Book Fair 2021 Sees Visitor Boost Under Juergen Boos

The 77th Frankfurt Book Fair, held from October 18 to 22, 2021, saw a significant increase in visitors. Juergen Boos, who has been the director since April 1, 2005, described the event as 'five successful and intense days'.

The fair attracted a total of 238,000 visitors, with 118,000 trade visitors and 120,000 private visitors. This marks an increase of 3,000 trade visitors and 5,000 private visitors compared to last year. Despite the growth, the visitor count did not reach the pre-COVID high of nearly 300,000 in 2019.

The fair was sold out on Saturday, indicating its popularity and relevance. It hosted 4,350 exhibitors, 50 more than the previous year. The event served as a platform for discussing central questions of our time, such as the handling of artificial intelligence and the responsibility of politics.

The Frankfurt Book Fair, under the leadership of Juergen Boos, ended with a notable increase in visitors. With 4,350 exhibitors and a sold-out Saturday, the fair remained a significant event in the literary calendar, despite not reaching pre-COVID visitor numbers.
