Frankfurt Airport sees steady passenger growth in early 2024 despite regional shifts

The airport saw 5.8 million passengers in June 2024 alone, up from the previous year. Part of this rise was linked to the timing of the Pentecost holidays, which boosted travel figures. Across all airports managed by Fraport AG worldwide, June costco travel climbed by 5.5%, totalling nearly 19.9 million travellers.
Demand for flights varied by region. Latin America remained a strong destination, with high passenger numbers in the first half of the year. Meanwhile, travel to the Middle East declined noticeably during the same period. North America saw little change, as passenger figures stayed flat.
