Four people injured in bus accident - Four injured as bus crashes into two cars in thick fog near Oberursel
A bus crash in Oberursel, Germany, left four people injured after colliding with two cars at an intersection. The incident happened during thick fog, with authorities now examining whether speed and poor visibility played a role in the accident.
The collision took place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, when a bus driver, aged 61, reportedly failed to stop at the intersection. The impact pushed the two cars into each other and also damaged a nearby traffic light. Emergency services rushed to the scene, where a 53-year-old woman from one of the cars and three bus passengers were treated for injuries before being taken to hospital.
A fog warning had been active in Oberursel since the previous evening, with visibility dropping below 150 metres. Temperatures hovered around 3°C, and thick cloud cover persisted all day. Investigators believe the driver was travelling too fast for the conditions and did not brake in time.
The road remained closed for roughly two hours while wreckage was cleared. Early estimates place the total damage from the crash at around ā¬85,000. Police have since launched an investigation into the driver for suspected negligent bodily harm.
The injured individuals received medical attention, though their current condition has not been disclosed. Authorities continue to assess the circumstances, focusing on the driver's actions and the impact of the fog. The incident has raised concerns about road safety in low-visibility conditions.
