Five Suspects Remanded in Custody Over Alleged Robbery Series
Five individuals, aged 19 to 26, have been remanded in custody following a series of suspected robberies. The Public Prosecutor's Office believes they lured victims via a contact app using false information, sometimes resorting to violence.
The suspects are thought to have operated in the Bavarian Lower Main region and the adjacent Hessian area. In August, an unknown man was lured to a recreational area and robbed. The Criminal Police suspect more victims may exist but have not yet come forward.
The suspects were arrested following court-issued search warrants. Evidence was secured, and they were presented to the investigating judge. Warrants for remand in custody were issued on suspicion of extortionate kidnapping. The Frankfurt am Main Police Directorate is investigating further suspected attacks, including attempted robbery in a game arcade, break-ins at single-family homes, and other offenses. Surveillance images have been released, and the public's assistance is sought to identify and catch these suspects.
The suspects remain in custody, pending further investigation. Anyone with information about further crimes is urged to contact the Criminal Police in Aschaffenburg. While the suspects have not been conclusively linked to the initial robbery incident on August 20, the investigation continues to uncover the full extent of their alleged activities.
