Around St. Nicholas Day, high-angle rescue teams across Germany brought unexpected joy to children in hospitals, hospices, and care homes. Dressed as St. Nicholas and his companions, they rappelled from heights to deliver gifts—turning a festive tradition into moments of surprise and delight for young patients.

In Wiesbaden, firefighters from the city’s high-angle rescue unit descended from a ladder truck to visit the Dwarf Nose Center. Clad in full St. Nicholas costumes, they handed out presents to children, who watched in wide-eyed amazement. Laughter filled the air as the youngsters interacted with their unexpected visitors.
