Firefighters deliver baby Anton mid-blaze in Wiesbaden's chaotic night

A dramatic night in Wiesbaden saw firefighters assist in a home birth while tackling a major blaze. The baby, named Anton, arrived safely before an ambulance reached the scene. Both mother and newborn were later taken to hospital in good condition. The incident began late Sunday night when a massive fire broke out on Wellritzstraße. Emergency services were already stretched thin responding to the blaze.

At 2:56 a.m., a call came in from a father seeking help for a home birth. The dispatcher quickly shifted focus, guiding the family through the delivery over the phone. Anton was born before paramedics arrived. Despite the ongoing fire, the dispatcher remained calm and provided clear instructions. After the birth, mother and baby were checked by paramedics and transported to hospital. Firefighters continued battling the blaze while the family received medical care.

The night ended with a safe delivery and a controlled fire response. Mother and newborn were confirmed to be in good health after reaching the hospital. The event highlighted the quick thinking of emergency services during a high-pressure situation.
