Fire Engulfs Frankfurt Restaurant, Spreads to Apartment; No Injuries
A fire broke out in the outdoor dining area of a restaurant on Oeder Weg in Frankfurt's Nordend district overnight on Tuesday, 24th September 2025. The blaze, which started around 2:45 AM, engulfed the outdoor dining equipment and spread to a nearby apartment on the first floor, shattering a window. Around 50 firefighters and rescue personnel were swiftly on the scene to combat the fire, which was extinguished after about 45 minutes.
Upon arrival, the outdoor dining equipment was already ablaze, causing significant damage. The fire then spread to a first-floor apartment, rendering both the restaurant and the apartment temporarily unusable. Fortunately, all residents of the apartments above the restaurant were able to evacuate safely and independently, with no injuries reported. The police have since initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire. The extent of the material damage is currently unknown.
The fire on Oeder Weg was successfully extinguished around 4:30 AM, with no casualties reported. The affected restaurant and the first-floor apartment remain unusable pending further assessment of the damage. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
