Fire and Injuries After B3 Collision Near Kirch-Goens

A collision on the B3 near Kirch-Goens today resulted in a fire and minor injuries. The road had to be closed while emergency services responded.

The incident happened at a construction site traffic light around 1:30 PM. A C-class car failed to stop and crashed into the rear of a waiting VW transporter. The impact caused the C-class to catch fire, but the driver and his 17-year-old passenger managed to escape.

The fire department quickly arrived, extinguishing the burning car and providing initial care to the injured. The driver of the Mercedes, a 60-year-old from Butzbach, and his passenger, along with the two occupants of the transporter from Langgoens, all suffered minor injuries. The C-class and the transporter were severely damaged and had to be towed away.

The collision caused significant disruption, with the B3 completely closed during operations. The fire department cleaned the roads after the incident. The extent of the vehicle damage is still being assessed, and the investigation into the cause of the collision continues.
