Festo Acquires R. Neddermann to Boost Pneumatic Technology Leadership

Festo has taken over R. Neddermann GmbH, a specialist in rubber and sealing technologies for pneumatic systems. The deal became official on 1 January 2026. The acquisition is expected to reinforce Festo's position as a leader in pneumatic technology.

R. Neddermann GmbH, based in Germany, has long been known for its high-quality rubber components and seals used in pneumatic applications. The company will now operate under the name Gummiwarenfabrik R. Neddermann GmbH – a Festo Group Company.

The takeover strengthens Festo's ability to produce valve seals more efficiently. This move is also set to speed up innovation in its product range. Thomas Böck, CEO of Festo, highlighted the strategic value of the acquisition, noting that it secures important technical expertise for the company.

Matthias Knieß, the previous managing director and owner of R. Neddermann GmbH, has announced his retirement. He expressed confidence that Festo would preserve jobs and maintain the region's skilled workforce. Leadership of the newly acquired company will now fall to Sebastian Schill, who currently heads Festo's Technology Plant in Scharnhausen.

The acquisition expands Festo's production capabilities while keeping key knowledge within the group. With the new structure in place, the company aims to accelerate development in pneumatic sealing solutions. The deal also ensures continuity for R. Neddermann's employees and operations.
