A family of six in Maintal was hospitalised after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning from a poorly extinguished charcoal grill. Meanwhile, police arrested a 31-year-old man wanted under an outstanding warrant in the same area.

On Wednesday evening, a six-member family in Maintal fell ill with headaches and dizziness. Firefighters arrived and found high carbon monoxide levels in their apartment and a neighbouring flat. The source was traced to a charcoal grill that had not been fully put out. All six were treated in an ambulance at the scene.

The father now faces criminal charges for suspected negligent bodily harm.

In a separate incident, officers from the 'Tuners, Speeders, and Posers' task force arrested a 31-year-old man in Maintal. He was wanted under an outstanding arrest warrant and taken to a police station. The suspect avoided custody by paying an outstanding fine of around €1,880.

The family received medical attention for carbon monoxide exposure, while the father may face legal consequences. The arrested man settled his debt and was released without further detention. Both cases remain under investigation by local authorities.
