House Uninhabitable After Fire - Family Escapes as Roof Collapses in Dieburg House Fire

A single-family home in Dieburg, southern Hesse, caught fire on Sunday morning. The blaze caused part of the roof to collapse, leaving the house uninhabitable. A father and son escaped safely before firefighters arrived on the scene.

The fire was reported at around 11:15 a.m. by one of the residents. Emergency crews quickly arrived to tackle the flames, stopping them from reaching neighbouring properties. As a precaution, two nearby homes were temporarily evacuated.

The exact cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage remain under investigation. Authorities have not released the precise street address, confirming only that the house is located in the eastern part of Dieburg.

The displaced family has since found alternative accommodation while assessments continue.

The house is now structurally unsafe due to the partial roof collapse. Firefighters successfully contained the blaze, preventing further spread to surrounding buildings. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
