Failed extortionist surrenders after targeting two Wiesbaden businesses in one day
A man attempted to extort money from two businesses in Wiesbaden-Südost on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. Both the beauty salon and the butcher's shop refused his demands, forcing him to leave empty-handed. Later that day, the man turned himself in to federal police at Wiesbaden Central Station.
The incident began around 4:55 p.m. when the man entered a cosmetics studio on Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring. He demanded money and threatened unspecified consequences if his request was ignored. Staff at the salon stood firm and sent him away without paying anything.
He then moved to a butcher's shop on Wielandstraße, where he repeated his demands. Again, the employees refused to comply and showed him the door.
Shortly after the failed attempts, the man went to Wiesbaden Central Station. There, he approached federal police officers and admitted to his actions. He expressed remorse for his behaviour during the extortion attempts.
Authorities have since launched criminal proceedings against the man for extortion. The case will now proceed through the legal system. Both businesses involved remained unharmed and continued their operations as usual.
